Unit Overview
The 75th Ranger Regiment is the U.S. Army’s premier light infantry special operations force, specializing in direct action raids, airfield seizure, special reconnaissance, and personnel recovery.
As part of the United States Army Special Operations Command (USASOC), Rangers are capable of deploying anywhere in the world within 18 hours. The regiment maintains a constant state of readiness, with one battalion always prepared for immediate deployment.

Notable Engagements
Rangers conducted the initial raid and subsequent rescue operations during the “Black Hawk Down” incident in Somalia.
The first conventional ground force insertion into Afghanistan, searing Kandahar airfield.
Continuous high-tempo operations including thousands of direct action raids against insurgent networks.
CLASSIFIED: Ranger Assessment & Selection
Ranger Assessment and Selection Program (RASP) is an 8-week course that tests physical endurance, mental toughness, land navigation, marksmanship, and small unit tactics. Candidates must pass a 12-mile ruck march, 5-mile run, and multiple combat water survival tests.
Upon completion, Rangers attend the 8-week Ranger School for leadership training. The regiment maintains a “Ranger First” policy where all personnel, including support staff, are Ranger-qualified. This creates a unique culture of shared experience and high standards.
